This is a genuine not reproduction or replica gunmaker's raw casting/forging from which a side by side shotgun action is made. As cast and not further machined or finished. It has been traditional hot rust blacked.

NO LICENCE is needed to either acquire or posses it as in other words it is in fact a blooming great lump of iron and steel that would make an interesting paperweight or desktop conversation piece.

Note the two 12 Bore cartridges are shown for size comparison purposes and are neither available for sale nor included in the sale. From this comparison as seen I believe this to have be a 12 Bore casting or forging.

The serial number or part pattern number of 2866 is cast or forged into the underside of the tang. The rough blacking on top of this raw casting/forging is over the raw casting which is not buffed or polished.
