AYA 400E, 12 Bore, Boxlock, Extractor, Double Triggers.
Manufactured 1963 and in excellent condition.
Colour case hardened boxlock action retaining almost all it's original colour.
The 400E is a rare predecessor of the No.3/No.4 but with better wood.
Well balanced 28" fixed choke barrels - Choked half and full.
Automatic safety catch, nicely scroll engraved.
Non ejector, which can often be better than chucking cartridges all over the place when game shooting.
The barrels are still very nicely blued with hardly any noticeable marks at all.
There is a tiny pin sized ding on the outside of one barrel but that's it.
The bores look like new and I don't think it has ever had much use.
Nicely finished one piece straight hand stock with a matching slim game style forend with push rod release catch that works perfectly.
The woodwork is in excellent condition as can be seen in the pictures.
I have just had it serviced and the top lever spring replaced and it has only shot 20 cartridges since.
Beautiful example of this lightweight game gun.
