Description
Get ready for the grouse season with this super little piece of British gunmaking history. Light enough to carry all day and perfect for the type of rough- or walked-up shooting where you 'walk a lot and shoot a little' and it is a non-ejector so no grubbing around in the heather for spent shells.
It's not in the first flush of youth, having been made in the 1920s, but it's a good honest gun and reproofed in 2010, so good to go. Bolstered lightweight action with sideclips and a greener-type crossbolt. There are a few marks in the left hand barrel just ahead of the chamber but it has been checked by a reputable gunsmith with a bore scope and given a bill of health. It has been cleaned throughly after every use in my ownership.
As you can see from the photographs the stock is made from a stunning piece of walnut and looks great. There are a few marks on the wood (see photos) but nothing to seriously impair the function. Well executed scroll engraving over most of the action and a small flash on the swamped rib. The barrels are on the face and lock up tight.
A great little gun that has been a good companion on some memorable shoots. Only selling to fund a new over and under (!) game gun.
Please email any questions or for more photos. Sorry about the wellies in the photo. Open to reasonable offers (for the gun, not the wellies).
